A Fine Example

I'm going to kick off the blog with a little story of something that happened to me this weekend while on a golf trip in Mesquite, Nevada. Although a bit absurd, it falls completely in line with the kinds of things I encounter on a regular basis in my life. Here we go...

On the drive down, I was following the Jazz game and looking up some football scores on my phone to keep us entertained. About 2 hours into the trip, my phone died and we were forced to chose an alternate source of entertainment. The bottle of ginger vodka we had packed proved to be the perfect alternative.

That night when we got to the hotel, I plugged in my phone and set the alarm for early the next morning so that we wouldn't miss our first tee time at 6:45. When I woke up, I unplugged my phone and left the charger in the wall with the cord hanging over a chair. Although slightly sleep deprived, we made it to golf with time to spare. Throughout the day, we used my phone to keep track of our friendly golf wagers. By the end of two rounds, my phone once again needed to be charged.

When we got back to the hotel room, I found the charger just where I left it, plugged into the wall with the end of the cord hanging over the chair. However, when I went to plug in my phone I realized that it wasn't my charger at all. It had a very similar looking wall plug but the tip was different and didn't fit into my phone. I asked my buddies if they had seen or moved my charger, only to find out that I was the only person in the group who had even brought a charger of any sort. I checked again to make sure that the one left in the wall didn't fit in my phone and of course it didn't. I proceeded to search the room to no avail. I inquired with housekeeping and the front desk. The most I got from either of them was a dumb look as if to suggest I was crazy.

Beyond all logic and rationality, my phone charger was unexplainably replaced, or somehow morphed into different one, durring the hours of daylight between when we left for golf and when we got back.
